Minister to Youth
Katie Mussat came to First Baptist Church, Shreveport, in July, 2014. She is married to Aaron Mussat, a hospital chaplain. Katie grew up in Augusta, Kansas. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Philosophy from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. Katie also holds a Master of Divinity degree from George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University.
From volunteer, to youth intern, to camp staff, to Associate Student Minister, Katie has served in various positions in local church ministry throughout Kansas and Texas before coming to Shreveport. Katie is passionate about teaching and preaching and involved in leadership with The Academy of Young Preachers. In Baptist life, Katie grew up American Baptist and has recently found kinship in the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.
Katie finds great joy and deep fulfillment in ministering to adolescents and their families. She is passionate about journeying with youth and college students as they learn what it means to become an apprentice of Jesus. Katie also enjoys running outdoors with her husband Aaron, watching movies and documentaries, reading, decorating, DIY projects, and thrift store shopping.
