Thank You Clista
Dear Church Family,
a little more than two years Clista Adkins has served on our church staff as
our Minister of Discipleship. She graciously agreed to work within our
budget—which meant part-time pay for what has been, in most weeks,
full-time work. Clista has elevated our work and ministry in a number of ways.
She has provided high-quality resources for our Sunday School teachers.
In addition to pointing our teachers to excellent commentaries, every week
Clista has distilled her own thoughts and research for them to use. She has
streamlined our Sunday School space and started new classes. Her “Early

scenes, Clista has worked with our bereavement team in providing
hospitality in times of crisis. She has been instrumental in outreach efforts
with visitors to our church and with outreach events. Clista has blessed us
with her outstanding preaching, she has patiently counseled and listened,
she has mobilized our members to serve in new ways, and she has enriched the
creativity of our staff. Events including Christmas Eve, Sunday School
Kick-off, Veterans’s Day, and block parties all have benefited from her
thinking, designing, and implementing.
