Dear Church Family,
There is some
work around the church that is "front and center." You know it when
they are absent, but you may not feel it deeply, because someone else steps
right in. My work might fall into this category. Then there is work around the
church that is behind the scenes. It is quieter. There is no comprehensive list
of activities. If this person is absent, you may well feel it. Something
is missing or not quite the same. This kind of person does so many "behind
the scenes" tasks, that inevitably something is missed. They cannot quite
be replaced. Theresa King's work falls into this category. In 1971, the church
realized that Theresa was doing so much in the church that she would be really
effective on the staff. Since that time,
Theresa has worked in various capacities for you. She has added a special touch
to the table decorations for church fellowships. She has organized everything
from choir music to Activity Center supplies. She has answered the phone, set
up water slides for children, and helped arrange the Lord's Supper. Theresa is
officially retiring from our church staff this month. We will miss her! Thank
you, Theresa King, for your devotion to this church and your faithful service.
We wish you the very best in God's next steps in your life.
On another note,
I do want to update you on our "Spring Forward in Giving" effort.
This month, as we are beginning our budget planning for the fiscal year
starting in July, we need our giving to catch up with our budget. Our first two
Sundays in March have been very strong. Thank you! We still have work to do.
This would be a great time to start giving to the ministries of your church if
that has not been a part of your budget. Your generous and sacrificial giving
allows ministry and missions to happen. Let's Spring Forward together!
